Synopsis
Four star fleet crew members beam down to an extinct planet for a standard away mission, but what happens when they lose contact with their mother ship? A mission of discovery becomes a battle to survive. Join us for this wacky Star Trek parody.
Production Notes
Planet of the Zers marked a scheduling change for The Fringe Files, with the company presenting a show during the Spring festival season. Members Brian Paterson, Phoebe Mulcahy, Craig Weaver, Jon Attwood, Charlotte Wright and Charlotte Watkin joined us for the first time.
Planet of the Zers became our most successful production to date, bagging seven award nominations, winning three.
Full Timeline
Rehearsals for Planet of the Zers ran from January to March 2016 at three Bristol venues: The Drawbridge, Bishops Tavern and The Hope & Anchor. The production was performed at the Backwell Playhouse during the Avon Short Play Festival on February 27, 2016, at the Shaftesbury Arts Centre for the Shaftesbury Drama Festival on March 5, 2016 and at Norden Farm for the Maidenhead Drama Festival on March 19, 2016.
Following these performances, The Fringe Files were invited back to the Backwell Playhouse for the Avon Short Play Festival recall on April 16, 2016. Charlotte Wright stepped in as a performer for Phoebe Mulcahy, who was unavailable.
