Synopsis
It’s another night on air for Cynthia and Will, hosts of a controversial late-night radio talk show. Everything seems to be running smoothly until a series of technical failures disrupt the broadcast, and strange reports begin flooding in from the residents of Blackhaven. Soon, the very survival of this isolated rural town will hang in the balance.
Production Notes
Blackhaven was set to be our first production in three years, marking an exciting new chapter for The Fringe Files. We were thrilled to welcome new members Kirsty Elizzabeth Johnstone, Hannah Turner, Joe Chadney and Daniel Wright to the group.
In celebration of our ten-year anniversary, Blackhaven was set to feature special voice over cameos from The Fringe Files' legendary alumni: Stuart Lyddon, Theresa Roche, Adam Holland, Emma Victoria Loveday, Charlotte Elizabeth Langley, Craig Weaver and Brian Paterson. This ensured that every previous production was represented by at least one former performer, making Blackhaven a true celebration of The Fringe Files' history.
Unfortunately, Blackhaven was cancelled just days before its first performance due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Scheduling
Rehearsals for Blackhaven initially ran from January to March 2020 at the Church of St Thomas the Martyr in Bristol. Performances were scheduled at The Warehouse Theatre in Ilminster for the Somerset County Drama Festival on March 21, 2020, at Norden Farm in Maidenhead for the Maidenhead Drama Festival on March 28, 2020 and at the Church of St Thomas the Martyr in Bristol on April 4, 2020.
