Techie’s log, Stardate: The final curtain

So here it is, the final day (as far as we know) this afternoon were performing for a home crowd at Backwell Playhouse. Being back in Bristol is a really fabulous way to round off this journey. I haven’t had such a great time in rehearsals for ages and I couldn’t have dreamed for a better team to work with. Sorry for being gushy but it has honestly been a pleasure to work with the team we have. If you find yourself at a loose end this afternoon I highly recommend coming to watch us. This is the techie, for now, signing off.

Thanks for reading!

It’s FOUR in Bristol for POTZ!

Last night, The Fringe Files presented our brand new science fiction parody, Planet of the Zers, to a near sell-out audience at the Backwell Playhouse, as part of the 2016 Avon Drama Festival.

We were absolutely blown away by the audience response and, indeed, the response of the adjudicator who praised the pace, energy and execution as “terrific!” All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, where we were fortunate enough to receive the following accolades:-

Techie’s log: Stardate 28th April – Lets get ready to rumble!

After our launch into the deepest of space, and the hungriest of times we boldly went onstage and behind in the name of entertaining family and friends on our home turf of Bristol. The dressing room may have been cosy but we all took a turn being the person stood in the middle!

The show went off without a hitch and all our hard team work paid off. I am so proud of all the cast and crew. The show was tight and we pulled off a performance with lots of good laughs and brilliant moments.

Proof of this came later when, myself, Brian, Mike and Craig went to the awards evening. We got three nominations, one win (Craig Weaver won Best Actor for his Lt. Ron Sprockett) and the show came third overall, qualifying us for the next round of the competition! I’m absolutely made up and loved every second.

Looking forward to our next show at Shaftesbury next weekend!

Techie’s Log, Stardate: Supplemental (Sunday 21st February)

So I’m writing today a special techie’s log. In about an hour I’ll be embarking with my fellow techies Charlotte and Michael at the Backwell playhouse as we do our first tech for Planet of the Zers.

I’ve shared a picture of my preparation: coffee, running through my lighting plot and Buzzfeed randomness. I’m a bit nervous but really excited to start this journey!

See you all on the other side!
